Professional Development Study Tour

New South Wales

Aquatics & Recreation Victoria has organised a study tour of selected facilities in New South Wales. 

 

During an intense but challenging week, ten different facilities will be visited on the Central Coast, Wollongong and Sydney.  A sample of facilities listed on our provisional itinerary includes: 

 

  • Mingara Leisure Centre, Central Coast

  • North Sydney Olympic Pool

  • Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, Sydney

  • Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre

  • Jamberoo Recreation Park 

 

It will cover a range of different facilities with different management styles so if you are thinking of refurbishing a facility, building a new centre or want to provide a challenging professional development opportunity then this is an outstanding chance to gain insight into practices and initiatives in another state.

 

There will be meetings with centre management as well as facility tours, covering such areas as design, venue management, pricing, programming and marketing.  Previous tours have been well received and participants have gained much from discussion with professionals, colleagues and policy initiators from other states.

Delegate Fee

Terms and Conditions

 

  • The package price is based on a group arrangement. Components of the package cannot be substituted for alternative arrangements, however there is some flexibility if individuals wish to stay on or join from another state.

  • Each delegate is responsible for personal costs (eg: lunch, dinners, room service, telephone).

  • All travel forms and details must be returned by the times requested.

  • All delegates must arrange their own travel insurance.

  • Payment in full would be preferred to ensure bookings are confirmed. However periodic payments are also offered. Earlier payment regarding airfare component may be required to ensure best price.

  • All periodic payment requirements must be met as scheduled.

 

Fee:    $2200.00 (plus GST) per person.  The fee includes:

 

  • Return economy air tickets to Sydney

  • Six (6) nights accommodation – single room at quality hotels (including breakfast each day)

  • Transport to all specified touring activities and accommodation

  • Fully organised tour itinerary
